Passage de

Mémoire

The museum is conceived as an architecture of movement, in which memory is constructed through sequential spatial experiences. A singular mass is carved into voids, passages, and moments of compression and release, generating a spatial narrative that guides movement through the site. Exterior voids translate into interior projections, extending volumes into courtyards and circulation spaces, creating a dialogue between solid and void, interior and exterior. The building responds through contrast with solid, restrained street-facing elevations, grounding it within its historic context, while interior and river-facing sides become more porous and open. A layered wooden façade filters light and views, producing rhythm through pattern and shadow. circulation drives the experience, shaping perception and constructing memory through movement.
