Solarium

Solarium is intended to be a terraced, light-oriented residential apartment building in Ironbound, where a stepped massing strategy elevates the building gradually to create expansive outdoor balconies and terraces, thereby maintaining a comfortable human scale along the street.

The vertical louvers articulate the facade, shifting based on daylighting hours and positions. This enhances environmental performance, establishing a distinct identity inspired by the neighborhood's layered cultural fabric.

Through the interplay of the stepped form, shading elements, and the interconnected highline ramp, Solarium embraces openness and daylight while offering a contemporary and contextually grounded contribution to the greater Ironbound urban landscape and community.
